Endemic performed the pre-dredge benthic invertebrate monitoring, eelgrass surveys, Caulerpa surveys, vegetation mapping and water quality monitoring for the Lower Santa Ana River Marsh Dredging Project from October 2012-April 2013. This project was supported by the Army Corps of Engineers. Endemic collected, sorted, and identified an array of Santa Ana River Marsh infauna and prepared and stored a voucher collection of all specimens. Endemic collected water samples from the SARM, Semeniuk Slough, the nearshore disposal site and surf zone sites along the disposal site in Newport Beach. Endemic obtained discrete water samples in the mid-column of the nearshore disposal site using a PVC double check valve bailer aboard their 20 foot Boston Whaler. Grab samples in the Marsh and Semeniuk Slough were obtained in the sample collection vials aboard their 10 foot flat bottom tracking boat. Endemic was responsible for writing up all of the final reports and statistical analyses (when applicable) associated with each monitoring assignment as well as drafting and implementing the Environmental Protection Plan.
