Endemic conducted nesting bird surveys for grassland, coastal sage, and riparian habitats over a 120 acre area prior to vegetation removal at a construction site on Camp Pendleton, San Diego County, CA. Endemic was also present during vegetation removal and construction. Sensitive species were monitored including nesting Red-tailed Hawks and White-tailed Kites, as well as the federally-listed Arroyo Toad and Least Bell’s Vireo. All surveys were compliant with NEPA and MBTA.

Endemic conducted avian nest surveys and southwestern pond turtle surveys for a wetland mitigation project at the University of California Natural Reserve System San Joaquin Freshwater Marsh Reserve at the University of California, Irvine. The project included removing native riparian and wetland vegetation to remove 4,100 lineal feet of dirt roads to create three acres of wetland habitat. Prior to vegetation removal, all areas were searched for avian nests and were compliant with the MBTA, CEQA, and NEPA.
